Deadpool & Wolverine Fucking RULED (Spoiler-Free Review)

Bob Fox and I were lucky enough to get tickets to a screener of Deadpool & Wolverine on Monday night. So we put on our Sunday best and went to the theater to watch the most anticipated MCU movie of the year, which just so happened to be the only MCU movie of the year.

We had a gaggle of free Wolverine fleshlights popcorn buckets ready to greet us when we showed up, proving that The Mouse has grown at least a little bit of a sense of humors to go with their massive wallet.
As for the movie, I'll keep this review quick since a good chunk of what I want to talk about is spoilery as fuck, which Robbie and I will dive deeeeeeeep into on My Mom's Basement (subscribe here to get the review podcast as soon as the movie is released on Thursday).
In short, the movie was exactly what MCU fans wanted and exactly what the MCU needed. It nails all the humor, nostalgia, and meta notes you hope it would with Ryan Reynolds crossing the line countless times with his extremely wise ass jokes of all things Marvel that hit harder than an uppercut from Khaleesi with a Drax arm.
Apologies for bringing up some bad memories, which this movie did a great job poking fun at then flushing down the toilet. There were lots of laughs, cheers, and excitement for the entire 2 hour run, which at its core is the entire point of superhero movies. I know the cliche line is to say this is the best MCU movie since Endgame, which is about as impressive as being the best athlete at Barstool following the last five years of shit. But either Deadpool & Wolverine wear that crown if Guardians 3 doesn't, which is pretty high praise considering the only Marvel franchise I love more than Guardians is The Avengers and had me doing stuff like this in my refractory post glow of watching the flick.
To sum up everything, I would say Deadpool & Wolverine was like watching your favorite NFL team put up a 50 burger after a rough stretch of the season. It doesn't necessarily mean everything is fine going forward, but it will help give you faith that things could be getting better in the long term while also having fun in the short term. There is also a mid credits scene and a post credits scene, so make sure to stick around until they turn the lights on after what should be a fun ass trip to the theater. As you can see in our instant review, Bob and I couldn't hold in our excitement while fighting back the millions of spoilers our eyeballs just ingested.
Like I said earlier, make sure to subscribe to the My Mom's Basement channel to get our Deadpool & Wolverine recap podcast as soon as it drops on Thursday when the movie is officially released. Until then, here's the Deadpool & Wolverine preview podcast we did before watching the movie last night along with a Logan review.
