Miller Moss and USC Led One of the Most Clinical Game-Winning Drives You'll Ever See
Lincoln RIley might just have another guy in Miller Moss.
Moss has been in Los Angeles since 2021 and waited his turn behind Caleb Williams the last two seasons. Now finally getting his chance as the guy for the Trojans, Moss made a hell of an impression in his first regular season start. USC got the ball with 1:47 left in a tied game against LSU and Moss led the Trojans right down the field and into the end zone for the game-winning score. USC's final drive covered 75 yards in eight plays and 1:39.
Moss finished the game 27-36 for 378 yards and a touchdown and looked much more like a guy Riley paid $1.5 million to pluck from the transfer portal rather than one who's been waiting in the wings for three years. In an era where high-profile quarterbacks switch schools every season, it's nice to see someone like Moss wait his turn and take advantage when he finally takes the reins.
I haven't seen many people talking about USC in College Football Playoff conversations coming into this season, but the Trojans' schedule certainly isn't insurmountable. They go to Ann Arbor in two weeks and if they make it out of there with a win, the rest of the season really opens up. I was really impressed with what I saw from the Trojans tonight.
