ESPN Is Giving Indiana A 23.4% Chance To Make The College Football Playoff, Higher Than Clemson, LSU, and Michigan
23%? That's higher than Michigan, LSU, Clemson, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Utah, and even Florida State. Good for Indiana. Confirmed: their always daunted football team does in fact have a pulse.
But here's the thing: I'm not sure which way I want to attack this blog. On one hand, I think it's pretty cool that the Big Ten's perennial doormat appears to have found a coach that could potentially keep it competitive in the first half against the Buckeyes, which they haven't been able to do since I was born...
But on the other hand, Indiana fans have been insufferable because of their…..3-0 start. For those keeping track at home, they've beaten: Florida International, Western Illinois, and UCLA. The hands down worst schedule in the entire country, but we've got Hoosier fanboys out here going by names such as "White Boy Rick", "Ebo", and "Blutman" acting like they haven't gone under .500 in 14 of their last 16 seasons.
Folks, they beat UCLA. That's what started this onslaught of confidence. They beat UCLA. And here's how the rest of their gauntlet of a schedule goes:
Charlotte
Maryland
@ Northwestern
Nebraska
Washington
@ Michigan State
Michigan
@ Ohio State
Purdue
How is that schedule legal? They quite literally only play one football team that can even breathe. And I hope that this "Ebo" kid is correct that Indiana comes into Columbus at 10-0, because maybe, just maybe, we can convince the good folks over at DraftKings Sportsbook to keep the spread under 3 touchdowns. But I also don't think either of those things will be happening. A wise man once told me not to bet on a bad football team to succeed just because they have a weak schedule. Remember when Notre Dame was in prime position to make the playoff since they only had teams like Northern Illinois left to play?

Anyways, I'm at my word limit for a team that hasn't beaten Ohio State since the stone ages. I'm sure the "White Boy Ricks" of the word are going to latch onto this blog like it's his prized possession, thinking the big boys from Columbus have Indiana on their mind, but that couldn't be further from the case. The fact of the matter is that daunted teams like Indiana have a whole lot more to do than schedule Florida International in the nonconference to get some real estate in this big brain.
