HISTORY: Jared Goff Went A Perfect 18-for-18, Set A New Record, Caught A Touchdown And Dan Campbell Still Somehow Denied Him A Game Ball
We saw what happened last night. Let's not pretend like there are people who didn't watch Monday Night Football (varsity version). Jared Goff was awesome because Lions Jared Goff is awesome. We should probably stop being surprised that the former No. 1 overall pick who took the Lions to an NFC Championship game a year ago is good at football. Instead, we need to find out what sort of bullshit QBR is:
He's the first quarterback to throw a perfect game over 11 passes! I'm not here arguing it's the best quarterback game we've ever seen, that'd be dumb, but how does this not equal a perfect quarterback rating? He didn't have an incompletion! He threw a touchdown, he caught a touchdown. It was like watching prime Jonathon Moxon out there except Jared Goff was always QB1. Hell, he couldn't even get the game ball though!
I don't know how we got here, but the Seahawks/Lions only play awesome games. We need to get them to play each other more often because it's gonna be something like 38-35 with a ridiculous play or two and some historical moment. Sign me up for that. Was much better than whatever slop happened in that Titans/Dolphins game. Starting to feel bad for Florida football between FSU, the Gators, Dolphins, Jags, just gross football outside of IMG Academy and Miami. We say it all the time, but Goff going to Detroit is still one of the more ridiculous positive outcomes in a trade we've seen. His career was over. He was a throw-in for the Rams to get Stafford basically. Clear out the space, give the Lions something back with the picks and likely get rid of him in a couple years. Instead he's one of the better quarterbacks in the league.
