5 Weeks Into The Season and Jayden Daniels is a Legitimate MVP Candidate

It's pretty crazy that in week 5 of his rookie season in a national game with Patrick Mahomes playing, they are discussing Jayden Daniels possibly being the MVP. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY could have saw this coming. Rookie QBs just...just aren't this good this fast. I want to be hesitant and level my expectations, but Jayden being awesome makes football so, so much fun. The fact he has a real argument to be the league MVP more than a quarter of the way through the season is astounding. There's still Stroud, still Baker, and still Mahomes...but Jayden would 100% get votes if the season ended today.

Jayden is basically must-watch football at this point. It helps a ton that Kliff is calling perfect games as the OC, but when plays break down, Jayden is able to do things like this:

What I love the most about him is he doesn't do anything boneheaded. He doesn't force balls into tight windows. He doesn't throw into double coverage. And he is running the ball great, while not fumbling at all. Jayden's situational awareness is 2nd to none as well- he always knows where the sticks are and how to extend plays and pick up first downs. Honestly I'm not sure I remember ever seeing a QB as good at being super-aware of the 1st down marker as he is.

This coming up Sunday obviously is a huge test. Can the defense stop Lamar/Henry and can this offense go into Baltimore and continue to impose their will? Hopefully this is just the first epic chapter of a 10 year Lamar vs Jayden rivalry, similar to Brady/Manning.

Sunday is going to be awesome, cannot wait. HTTC.
