A Miami Player Took a Georgia Tech Fan's Phone and Threw It Clear Across Bobby Dodd Stadium After the Canes' Loss

We had yet another field storming incident on Saturday when Georgia Tech knocked off previously undefeated No. 4 Miami. This time, a Tech fan got near a Miami player and was filming him before the player just grabbed the phone out of the guy's hand and slung it across the field. By my rudimentary calculations, the phone was in the air for about three seconds, which would correlate to a distance of 144 feet if the phone was in free fall — so given that it was thrown, it was probably even a little further than that.

I still don't know how I feel about this kind of stuff. If you're doing something like the guy who was getting in Jason Kelce's face and using slurs for no reason, then yeah, you deserve to have your phone smashed and probably more. But in a college football environment where you know field stormings happen, why are these players not just getting off the field? This guy — it appears to be TE Elijah Arroyo — is just standing there long enough after the game that fans have poured onto the field and seems to be waiting for trouble. Just go back to the locker room and be thankful you didn't lose to Cal, Virginia Tech and Duke, too.

It was a hell of a toss, though.
