Flacco SZN is Over, Colts' Fans Have Successfully Bullied The Organization into Starting Anthony Richardson For The Rest of The Season

They've done it. I'd like to say "we've done it", but I can't in good conscious lump myself into the group of Colts fans who fought tooth & nail, and called for the public execution of any person, be it a coach or a fan, who ever once had it cross their mind that the Colts should consider starting Joe Flacco over Anthony Richardson. But by god they did it. Thanks to incessant tweeting, name calling, and comparisons to the most heinous terrorist America has ever seen...

...Anthony Richardson Is once again the starting quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts. Well done Colts fans. We're so fucking back. Anthony Richardson development season is back on.

Indianapolis' long national 2 week local nightmare is over. The days of Joe Flacco are behind us. But the question remains... will Anthony Richardson be able to overcome those two grueling, humiliating, confidence shattering weeks he was terroristically forced to spend on the bench? Did he spend his time studying the playbook, watching film, and learning from his mistakes so that he's better prepared to lead an NFL football team moving forward? Or has all the talent been sucked out of his body Space Jam style? Has 2 weeks on the bench stunted his development beyond repair as many Colts' fans suggested would happen?

Well based on what's coming out of the Colts' locker room today, it sounds like Anthony Richardson had a couple of the most productive weeks in the history of mankind.

Sounds like he's a whole new person. A whole new quarterback. Problem solved! By the looks of it, it seems that Anthony Richardson is in fact mentally strong enough to not be completely broken by two weeks on the bench. Dare I say, two weeks on the bench might actually turn out to be a GOOD thing for his career. Could it have possibly even been a smart move by the coaching staff? It's a wild thought, I know. But I'm hopeful it's true.

Now to be fair to Colts fans who were ready to have Shane Steichen burned at the stake… Steichen seemed to be doubling, tripling, and quadrupling down each week that Flacco would be the quarterback for the remainder of the season. If you took Steichen at his word, it sounded like he was pot committed to riding out the rest of the season with AR on the bench.

But thankfully he saw the light. Colts' nation can all breathe one big sigh of relief. The coaching staff took a stab at a Joe Flacco-led playoff run. They gave it 2 weeks. It wasn't working. So they're going back to Anthony Richardson.

Someday in the future, when Anthony Richardson's glaring flaws have all disappeared, the Colts have won multiple Super Bowls, and AR is being fitted for his Hall of Fame jacket in Canton, OH… we'll all look back on those two weeks and laugh. Because holy shit… they were just not that big of a deal. For better or worse, Anthony Richardson is going to get his chance in the NFL. Buckle up Colts fans. These next 7 games are sure to be a wild ride.
