Tennessee Fans Have Donated Thousands of Dollars to Montana Guard Money Williams After Watching Him Score 30 Points and Also Learning He Is Taking Care of His Younger Siblings Following the Loss of Their Parents

Money Williams lit up No. 11 Tennessee on Wednesday night, scoring 30 of Montana's 57 points on 8-15 FG and 4-7 3PT. He was incredible. Off the court, though, Williams has had a pretty rough year.

He has lost both of his parents since last November and now he and his older sister are having to take care of their three younger siblings.

GoFundMe — On November 29th, 2023, while I was away playing basketball in Reno, Nevada, I received the devastating news of my father's passing. At just 18 years old, I was suddenly faced with the tough decision of whether to continue chasing my dreams or set them aside to support my family.

Now, just a year later, we've suffered another profound loss. Our mother, Latoya Bailey, peacefully passed away in her sleep on October 12th, 2024. This unexpected tragedy has left my siblings and me at a loss for words.

Our mother was more than just a caretaker; she was the heart and soul of the Williams family. She had a magic touch, turning simple moments into cherished memories and ordinary meals into feasts filled with laughter and warmth. When times were tough, she stretched every dollar, ensuring her children never felt the weight of struggle.

With the passing of both our parents, my older sister Mo'Ney and I have become responsible for our three younger siblings: Joanna, Jermaine, and Jeremiah Benson. The weight of this responsibility, coupled with our grief, is immense.

Vols beat writer Mike Wilson posted Williams's GoFundMe after the game and donations have been pouring in from Tennessee fans looking to help.

In an age when it's very easy to be cynical about college sports, it's nice to be reminded of the good people can do and how this stuff brings people together. And I'm also thankful we now live in a time where the scumbag NCAA won't come knocking on Money Williams's door because people have donated money to help him and his family in a time of need.

Good for everyone involved in this story. I hope Williams has an awesome season and we're hearing about him being the top guy in the transfer portal at the end of the year.
