Terrifying: Dan Campbell Taught Jake Bates How To Kick Under Pressure By Getting 'Super Close' And Staring Daggers At Him During Practice

You want that guy super close to you? Absolutely not. Not as a kicker. That's for goddamn sure. We saw it pay off this past Sunday too with Bates drilling the game-winner against the Texans. We know he's a UFL guy who is now kicking for arguably the best team in the NFL. Gotta think it's all Dan Campbell's terrifying voodoo. You miss a kick in practice with this guy staring daggers at you, you know you're in deep shit. Remember, we're talking a kicker here. Kickers seem to rotate teams every two seconds and they end up playing for half the league.

You might say why not have your special teams coach do this? Well, not every team has a Dan Campbell. We're getting pretty damn close to talking about him in terms of rebuilds or however you want to classify the Lions before him. They were a nothing, a loser franchise that is now expected to play in a Super Bowl. Gotta think it's all because of the guy who terrifies his kicker into making game-winning kicks (and Brad Holmes). But this is the sort of coaching you gotta have in the NFL. Count me in as someone who would never want to attempt this sort of kick with Campbell being a tad too close to me with coffee and dip breath.
