Dad Of The Year: Rick Pitino Tried To Stop St. John's Fans From Chanting 'Who's Your Daddy' As He Kicked His Son's Ass At MSG
There's something hilarious about Rick Pitino beating the shit out of his son but this is where we gotta draw the line. No chanting who's your daddy when Rick is around. You gotta protect the family. Win enough so it matters in the NET, don't let your fans chant a factual statement. What did Rick expect? St. John's fans are itching to cheer something, anything positive. They finally have it and you stop them. Come on, Richard knew what he was in for here. He knew what was going to happen if they lost. Who's your daddy was going to be a thing no matter what the score was if St. John's was winning.
I have two sons and I can say this confidently. I will have my fans cheer and taunt them. It builds character. No free wins in the Reagan household. They need to learn how to lose and get taunted. You can't just waltz into where I coach and think a loss won't stick around. Sure, you want to protect your kids, but it's about making fun of them, exactly like my father does to me when Kentucky loses in heartbreaking fashion.
Also if you're going to try to stop them, you gotta give way more of an effort here. This was like a hey, stop doing that. Again, any dad knows the difference between that and a solid scold. You gotta get the deep voice, let out a 'HEY' and that's it. Let people know you mean business, not a smirk and a stop.
