Paul Skenes Officially Won The NL Rookie Of The Year Award And Gave One Of The Most Heartfelt Speeches Of All Time

Listen, I know no one really gives a fuck about baseball at this time of year. The Dodgers are going to win every World Series for the next decade, and it's football time. I get all of that. But when I heard an acceptance speech put so concisely and beautifully spoken by Paul Skenes sitting alongside his girlfriend life-hall-of-famer Livvy Dunne, I had to put it out on the blog. I think of the times that we've heard some great acceptance speeches in sports.. none of which compare to how profound this one was.

Move over, you the real MVP. We've got "this is cool" for the rest of time now. And listen, you would have maybe thought that Skenes would have applauded the season of his counterpart Jackson Merrill, who many thought deserved the award over Skenes in the first place. But nope, he kept it sweet and simple, as life should be. Congratulations Paul and I'm not sure what this guy doesn't have in life after being one of the best pitchers in baseball dating one of the most beautiful women on the planet, but that's why he's the best.
