Ernie Johnson Delivered An Incredible Tribute To Greg Gumbel, Which Was The Only Correct Way To Start This NCAA Tournament

I know there's a lot we like to make fun of when it comes to this crew or Inside the NBA or March Madness. But, Ernie Johnson is the absolute best at delivering tributes and no one deserved more than Greg Gumbel. I know I'm likely older than most people reading this, I'm 38 so been around this event for some time. Before Twitter or the Internet or anything like that you just waited for Gumbel to talk and find out if your team made it. There was something pure about that. You truly had no idea and just waited around some box of a television hoping you heard those words.

Greg Gumbel is the face you probably should think have first when it comes to the event. He did Selection Sunday, he was the host for the pregame and studio shows, he had the voice of the NCAA Tournament because he was there for it all.

That's why this is the perfect intro. Play some Stones like they did on Selection Sunday for him, let Ernie talk and some of the guys share stories before getting into basketball, or in this case Charles Barkley learning how to pronounce Louisville. So shout out Ernie Johnson for this and everyone involved. It was perfect and the only way we should have started this year's Tournament. Now let's enjoy 12+ hours of college basketball.
