Do You Believe In Miracles: DIII Baseball Team Snaps 100-Game Losing Streak, Picks Up Their First Win In 3 Years

It's been a few down years now for the Yeshiva University Maccabees. In order to get an idea of what was going down here, we need to go back to the 2022 season. The Macs came flying out of the gates, starting the season 2-1 after sweeping a series against John Jay College. They then proceeded to lose their last 26 games of the season. After going 2-27 in 2022, they followed that up with a 0-29 campaign in 2023. After that was a 0-26 year in 2024. The 2025 season looked to be trending on a similar path after starting off the season 0-18.

That was 99 straight losses for the Maccabees, right as they were heading into a double-header series against Lehman College. A program who was also in the midst of their own 42 game losing streak. Something had to give.

First up, it was Lehman breaking their 42-game skid.

That loss officially pushed the Yeshiva Maccabees to a nice, even 100 straight losses spanning the course of 4 seasons. If they didn't win the 2nd game of that double-header, they may never win again.

    Do you believe in Miracles?

    YES!

Gotta be honest here. That was a pretty mundane celebration for picking up your first win in over 3 years. I figured they'd all come racing out of the dugout and start doing the hora out there. For the seniors on this team, it was their first win since the 3rd game of their freshman season. For the rest of the guys on this team, it was their first win ever. This is bigger than the World Series, and they all came walking out of the dugout like it was nothing. I mean…it definitely tracks. You can't lose 100 games in a row unless you're an incredibly low energy team. But I can't believe I'm more excited for these guys than they are for themselves, and I just found out Yeshiva University is a place that exists 27 minutes ago.

Either way, congrats to the fellas. What a win. What a team. Hope they had plenty of challah and matzoh waiting for them at the postgame tailgate. Those boychiks earned it.
