It's UFC 324 eve, and the main event between Paddy "The Baddy" Pimblett and Justin Gaethje is now official after both fighters made weight this morning. I couldn't be more excited for the Barstool Grudge Match years in the making....
There were a few misses otherwise, but the only fight cancelled today was Cameron Smotherman vs Ricky Turcios after Smotherman passed out on stage after weighing in....
He was carried off stage and brought straight to the hospital. Incredibly scary to see and we all hope he's okay.
We got to see Paddy briefly on Wednesday at the Apex and he was calm, cool, and collected - watching football (soccer) with the team and having a good time. I know Justin Gaethje is still super dangerous on the feet and prepared for war, but I truly believe this is a great matchup for Paddy and that it won't take long for him to find a choke or an armbar. I'm taking him via sub (+130) and via sub in the second round (+700) and hoping he puts Gaethje in an absolute pretzel right away. Basically just the Bobby Green fight all over again, ideally….
