'The Hell Kind Of Question Is That?' - Don't You Dare Ask Sean McVay If He Expects Matthew Stafford To Come Back And Play For The Rams Next Year

[Source] - When asked after the game whether he expected Stafford to be back next season, Rams head coach Sean McVay said, "Yeah, if he still wants to play. The hell kind of question is that?"

We've had this will he/won't he in terms of Stafford retiring basically all year. But the man is one of the two guys who is being considered for the MVP, he played arguably the best football of his life this year and was a play or two away from playing for another Super Bowl. So it feels like why retire at this point? It's not like he lost a step and can barely sling it anymore.

So, naturally, that question gets asked right after the game. Stafford also said this after the game:

"I can't generalize six months of my life 10 minutes after a loss," Stafford said. "So I appreciate the guys in this locker room a whole hell of a lot. Everybody that helped me and helped our team be the success that we were this year. And that's all I'll answer for you."

He still has one more year left on his contract. It feels like a no-brainer to come back for another year. Oh, and I have no problem with McVay answering this way. Stafford is his guy, he traded Goff, he made the move to decide the one way to win a Super Bowl was get Stafford. it worked out. I don't care if that's the only Super Bowl they win, they got one. You make that trade a million times in a row for one Super Bowl win.

I want Stafford to come back. I said it before, but I'll keep saying it, Stafford is one of the last old school style quarterbacks we've had. He's the old guard, who just slings it around, does the no-look pass and keeps winning games. There's something awesome about watching Stafford in a big game. Your heart sinks a bit if you're on the other side, Stafford has the ball in the 2-minute drill with like 70 yards to go. Few quarterbacks have that sort of feel to them and Stafford is one of them.

Just don't you dare ask McVay is he expects Stafford to come back to the Rams.
