You Be The Judge: Who Is To Blame For This All-Time Beer Fumble At The North Dakota Hockey Game

One of the ultimate signs of respect in dude culture is making sure to grab an ice cold one for your buddy if you're going up to grab a beer for yourself. It could be you and the fellas hanging out in the living room, it could be at the bar, but especially at a game.

"Hey, boys. I'm heading up to grab another. Does anyone want one?"

A guy like that belongs in every crew for the rest of time. There's nothing worse than the selfish prick who only takes care of himself when he's empty. You grab a beer for the boys, and your stock is golden.

So that brings us to these two gents at the North Dakota hockey game. Buddy in the black sweater was kind enough to grab a beer for his pal in the green sweater.

That's already a +1 on the shift for him. But our guy in the green sweater is busy chatting up a chick. He's working it around the boards a little bit, trying to apply some pressure. Obviously black sweater doesn't want to screw it up for him, so he's just patiently waiting there on the back door with beer in hand. He tries to nudge his buddy to let him know he's back with the goods, but then green sweater comes across with an elbow to the beer so violent it would make Jacob Trouba blush.

$13 beer goes flying everywhere. Tough, tough scene for our guy in black. DO YOU REALIZE WHAT YOU'VE DONE!?

The look of horror as green sweater realizes the tragedy which just occurred. Full beer all over the seats, all over his buddy, and most importantly--not going down his gullet.

Now here's the thing. It's easy to watch this video at first and just assume that green is at fault here. He's the one who elbowed the shit out of that beer. However, communication is key out there. The best teams are always the ones who talk the most. If black sweater just said to green, "beers here, buddy", then maybe all of this could have been avoided. But green was given no heads up. Green was caught out there with his head down and his back turned to the play. The elbow may have been a little reckless, and he definitely deserves a 2-minute minor for that one. But after reviewing the play, there's definitely no major penalty to be handed out here.
