"Normal Barbie" Is Getting Grosser Believe It Or Not

Time -The Lammily doll—the so-called “Normal Barbie” with realistic body proportions—is joining the ranks of women everywhere: she’s getting her period. But she’s more than prepared for this crucial rite of passage, thanks to the $10 Period Party extension kit. Described as “the fun way to explain the menstrual cycle to kids,” creator Nickolay Lamm wants to start a conversation about periods and the stigmas that surround it. “It’s just what happens in real life,” Lamm told TIME. “We wanted to put it on the doll so it’s not a scary thing.” Which is why the kit comes with an educational pamphlet explaining what to expect from a menstrual cycle plus a pair of doll underwear, 19 colored pads, a calendar and stickers to track periods.

A graphic designer turned toymaker, Lamm created the Lammily Doll in 2014, which comes with a sticker-extension pack to add other things that can be seen as taboo, like cellulite, freckles, acne, scrapes, bruises, scars and moles.

Tooooo far, this is just too damn far. So, at first they took Barbie and made her ugly by giving her cellulite, acne and scars. Whatever, that’s fine I guess but this is just disgusting. This doll isn’t Barbie, it’s not “normal Barbie” it isn’t any kind of Barbie. Barbie is supposed to be perfect; this is just a gross period doll that psychotic parents are going to use to explain periods to children. I just wish this whole recent thing with periods would stop. Stop relating periods to equality, stop free bleeding everywhere, stop painting pictures with period blood, and stop making dolls that bleed out of their vaginas. #StopBeingGross2015
P.S This doll has single dad written all over it. Now they don’t have to have that terrible talk with their teenage daughter. Just give her this creepy ugly doll and a pamphlet and let her figure it out.
