NHL Goal Horn Website Trolls The Islanders After Unveiling Their Atrocious MTA Horn

Connor already blogged about how stupid it is for the Islanders to feel the need to change absolutely everything down to uniforms and now goal horns with this move to Brooklyn. I agree with him, to an extent. As a casual hockey fan I think its nuts how worked up the maniacs get over the littlest things. As Connor said, none of the little things about the #brand will matter when the Isles are winning the Metro.
Now that being said, isnt this such an easy situation to rectify. Just go back to the old fucking horn. Do you know how many points you’ll win back from the diehard Isles fans? Like if I was a PR firm this is actually a scheme I’d hatch in order to win some fan loyalty. Unveil something so terribly bad everyone will hate it and then be like “OK since we love you so much we’ll keep the old horn.” The Isles fan base would rejoice right now to have that old Barn, born, I mean horn back. If you take a major misstep in the eyes of the fans for something as trivial as what noise you play after a goal, just fix it.
I know franchises cant let fans dictate everything. I know it sounds like they “partnered with the MTA” so its probably not something in their eyes the can just abandon. I guess. Just tell the MTA sorry, didnt work. We’re going back to the old one because our entire fan base hates this. Why choose this to be stubborn?
