Independent- Kanye West’s low-maintenance haircut is apparently a lot more expensive to maintain than it looks, with the rapper reportedly spending $500 getting his hair cut every single day. Quite how anyone can justify $255,799 annually on a shaved head when a bag of Bic razors retails for about £1.50 is anyone’s guess. The news came, bizarrely, from Rihanna’s dad, Ronald Fenty, who spoke to Heat magazine about West’s grooming regimen, having spent a month on tour with his daughter when she played some shows with West. “It’s crazy — Kanye gets a haircut every day,” he said. “He pays his barber $500 a time. I don’t understand how that much hair gets taken off. Kanye just loves the fresh look.” Ibn Jasper, the man with the high-pressure job of cutting West’s hair, told the magazine he moved to New York from Chicago at the rapper’s request, after he said he didn’t feel comfortable getting other people to do it. “Whenever he was wearing [his] orange hat, it meant he’d gotten a f****d-up cut in NYC,” Ibn laughed. “He asked me to move to NYC and I told him, ‘When you can pay me what I make in the shop, then I’ll move.’”
At first glance this would fall under #PowerMovesOnly. $500 on haircuts every single day? Crazy. But if you think about it, it really just falls under #RichAndFamousAndIHavePaparazziTakingPicturesOfMeAllDayEveryDayMovesOnly. Think about it this way. It’s all relative. A normal person gets their haircut when they’re planning to go out and when there will likely be pictures taken. Snapchats, Instagrams, selfies, all that shit. You can’t run the risk of not getting a hair cut and then a million pics being taken while your hair looks like shit. Ladies might see those pictures. Now think about Kanye. That’s his life every single day. Any time he steps out of his house pictures are being taken. Paparazzi know where he’s going before he does. You think Kanye West is gonna get caught out not having a fresh cut? Not a fucking chance. Even the $500 part is relative. Kanye is worth a katrillion dollars so he can afford to drop almost $260,000 on hair cuts every year. If he couldn’t, he wouldn’t. $500 to Kanye is like $25 dollars to a normal person.
