I Stand And Applaud TSA For Throwing Away This Buzz Lightyear "Realistic, Replica Firearm" Because It "Looks Too Much Like a Gun"
WMMT - A Pennsylvania father believes the TSA went too far when it confiscated his son’s favorite souvenir from Disney World. “We couldn’t go on the plane yet because they said it looks too much like a gun and you can’t bring guns on the plane,” said Levi Zilka. “We understand that things are scary out there right now but taking a toy from a five year old doesn’t enhance national security. It was all I could do not to break down with him in that moment,” said David Zilka. Little Levi Zilka was so excited when his uncle bought him a Buzz Lightyear toy during his first trip to Disney World. But his enjoyment didn’t last long. Levi and his father only packed carry-on’s for their trip. And since the TSA requires realistic replicas of firearms to be checked, the TSA agents at the Fort Lauderdale International Airport took the toy. “Once he realized what was happening, that they weren’t giving his toy back, he immediately starts balling, just tears streaming down his face, crying,” said David Zilka. “Why’d it make you so sad?” Levi was asked. “Because they threw it in the trash,” said Levi.
TSA just doing the damn thing! Standing ovation!!!! Look at that realistic looking firearm. Good thing they took it from the 5 year old and plopped it into the trash, another job well done. Does it make you feel safer knowing the people who work for TSA can’t distinguish this from a realistic firearm?
Good thing you can walk around Disney World with that very realistic looking gun, but once the geniuses at TSA see it, right into the garbage it goes. Thank you, high school drop outs, for keeping us safe. Hopefully they forced another 90 year old granny to completely strip soon thereafter, before failing 95% of airport security tests conducted by Homeland Security.
I’ve said it twice and I’ll say it a third time, I’m 10000% on team keep us safe. 1000000000%. But a little bit of clarity, common sense, and not treating people like human garbage would go a long way. There’s just better ways to do stuff. If the people in charge of keeping us safe think that Buzz Lightyear claw/shovel thing is too much like a gun, then we shouldn’t allow anything at all on planes. Or people in general. Back to using covered wagons and dying of typhoid I guess.
