Cubs Co-Owner Todd Ricketts Says Mets Fans Were Really Obnoxious During The NLCS And Every Cubs Fan Simultaneously Cringes

(Source) While speaking to an audience at the Sheraton Grand Chicago, Chicago Cubs co-owner Todd Ricketts had some not so kind words about New York Mets fans. 

“I don’t know if you know this, but Mets fans are really, really obnoxious,” Rickets told the crowd. 

The Cubs board member said he and his wife enjoyed his team’s trip around the country during the playoffs. The two relished Pittsburgh, and thought the fans in St. Louis were “hospitable.” Their stop in New York was not as pleasant.

While talking about Game Five of the World Series, Ricketts said, “When Hosmer’s left hand went across home plate, my wife jumped up, pointed at the TV and she said: ‘Screw you Matt Harvey! Screw you Mets fans!'”

The Mets host the Cubs at Citi Field June 30th – July 3rd.

I think I have one good memory from that entire series (the G3 Schwarber home run in the first inning) one. One single moment where I was able to cheer. It wasn’t so much a series as it was a thorough beatdown. So to tell everyone how obnoxious and mean people were 3 months after the fact is not a good look. Talking about your wife motherfucking Harvey and your resentment towards Mets fans. Come on man. We got our ass kicked, the future is bright, everything should be looking forward to what should be an incredible 2016, this just makes you and Cubs fans by associations look salty. No one holds resentment towards the Mets. When you get beat so soundly you aren’t allowed to be resentful, you just put your tail between your leg and your hands up and go home.
