ITS DINNERTIME - Isles Bandwagon Is Heating Up For Game 4 Tonight
Isles are cookin after their game 3 thriller and the bandwagon is now rolling full steam ahead. That 2nd period was a backbreaker for the Panthers. If the Isles wanna be contenders its time to step on their opponents throats. Tighten the noose tonight. Sweep the leg on Friday.
And really everyone outside of Panthers fans should be rooting for the Isles. If you’re a fan of hockey you wanna see this team take the next step. For two reasons – 1) its a step closer to a potential Isles-Rangers showdown which would be absolutely fucking ELECTRIFYING. I think I would die of electrocution if that matchup somehow comes to fruition. So would the entire hockey world. Obviously need a lot of help for that to happen, first and foremost the Rangers not getting scraped by the Pens, but we can dream.
and 2) this team is too young and talented and entertaining to give us another 1 and done. The past 2 postseason series for this squad have been incredible despite ending in losses. 2 years ago when they were David trying to slay Goliath as the 8 seed against the Penguins they almost pulled off the impossible. Last year as the Viking funeral pyre burned at the Coliseum, they went 7 with the Caps in a series that was as intense as it gets. I know I’m a bandwagon fan, and I know it would be naive to say that other playoff teams and other series are not as exciting – but the Islanders flat out put on a SHOW when they are on the ice. They’re not perfect. They’ve got their issues and their holes. But they are a fucking fun team to watch. From Tavares to the 4th Line, they are an extremely likable squad.
Tonight they put the stranglehold on the Panthers and show the league its their turn to make a run at the cup. Its DINNERTIME.
