Wake Up With Christian Yelich Hitting A Walk-Off Double To Beat The Pirates

For the casual baseball fans out there, this is Christian Yelich. He’s 24, he plays for the Miami Marlins, he’s a Stoolie, and he’s hitting .320 with a .923 OPS. Yelich trails only Ryan Braun for the highest batting average and OPS for all major league left fielders. Nobody’s talking about the Marlins right now, but they should be. With the walk-off victory against the Pirates, the Marlins improved to 29-25, which still has them in third place in the NL East, but they’ve matched the win total of the New York Mets and the Pittsburgh Pirates, who both figure to be in the playoff picture this fall. Are they as talented as those two teams? Nope. But, for now, they’re in the same conversation.
