ESPN – The Tennessee Volunteers and Virginia Tech Hokies have agreed to play a football game in 2016 at Bristol Motor Speedway, where a record 160,000 fans could be in attendance, according to a source.
The game is likely to be played on Sept. 10, 2016, the source said.
Bristol Motor Speedway is about halfway between the campuses of Tennessee and Virginia Tech, making a September 2016 game between the schools easy to get to for their fans.
The Bristol Motor Speedway Commission announced plans for a news conference Monday at the track for what it called a major announcement, but gave no details.
The Bristol Motor Speedway location makes it ideal for fans from both teams to get to. It is about halfway between the two campuses on Interstate 81, 110 miles northeast of Knoxville, Tenn., and 125 miles southwest of Blacksburg, Va.

This is going to be sick. I love when teams do cool things like this. I even like when they play basketball on aircraft carriers. I’m not sure if packing 160,000 college football fans into one place that serves alcohol is necessarily the best idea, but it’s gonna be one of the most fun environments you could possibly be in.

So I ask the question, where else would you like to see a game? Here are my top 3 ideas, but I’d like to hear yours as well.

National Mall

The idea gets brought up every year to hold some sort of sporting even there, but the logistics won’t work out. There’s no bathroom facilities, no bleachers, no real anything that you need to support an event so large. But if they can ever figure it out, Army vs Navy will be unreal.

Let’s clean this place up and get some games going. Gladiators fought for their lives there, so it’s only right to have Jadeveon Clowney play there too.

Dillon High School Stadium

The field legends were made on. Riggins, Street, Saracen, Smash, and Landry left it all on the field. Lyla probably lost her virginity on the 50 yard line. Texas should be playing Oklahoma there every year.
