South Philly Is Officially Back To One Of The Toughest Spots For Opponents To Survive In The NFL

NJ.com – The Eagles are a different team at home. Sunday’s 24-15 victory over the Atlanta Falcons hammered home the point that’s become obvious this season: With a 4-0 record at Lincoln Financial Field, home-field advantage has returned to Philadelphia.

Led by a dominant defensive effort, the best ground attack all season and a crowd that makes a difference, the Eagles jumped back over .500 to 5-4 and re-ignited playoff talk among fans. With four home games left (Green Bay, Washington, New York Giants, Dallas), the idea of a season-changing home record is now on the table.

Remember when coming to Philadelphia used to be the worst thing in the world for a NFL team? Yes, we had the Vet where the turf, toilet rats, and asbestos ended more careers than anywhere else. Fans in the 700 level used to blackout at 8am for a 1pm game, want to fight the opposing players, end up fighting each other, go to the bathroom to piss in the troughs like farm animals, then hug it out like real men after every touchdown. Rinse and repeat, every week. Those days are gone because of the corporation’d, politically corrected pussy Linc where hardcore heart and toughness has been replaced with wind turbines and solar panels, but the Philly atmosphere should have never left. Sadly, playing in South Philadelphia has not been a real home field advantage the past couple years. Shit, there was a point in Andy Reid’s last season through Chip Kelly’s early years where the Eagles lost 10 straight games at the Linc. 0-10!!!

Well, friends, no need to worry anymore. South Philly is officially back as a Nest Of Death. Just look at those numbers. Absolute dominance at home (compared to scoring 22 points while giving up 26 points on the road). But not only that, there’s a tingle in the stands that hasn’t been felt in quite some time. An electricity of drunken anger reigning from above down to the field. I’ve said it after the 2nd home game, there’s a very, very good chance this team runs the table at the Linc this season. They’ve got 3 Division opponents along with Green Bay, and they’re probably going to have to go 8-0 at home to secure a Wildcard spot. Regardless, it’s just nice to actually have a home field advantage again. All the players need to do is continue to dominate and hopefully, one magical day, we’ll respond appropriately by tugging their nuts down Broad St.

PS – Still no Vet.
