Deion Sanders Says He Walked Out Of His Combine Meeting With The Giants In 1989 Because They Wanted Him To Take A Very Long Test

Are you trying to tell me that Deion Sanders may have done something that could be considered arrogant and brash back when he was in full Prime Time mode? Why I never! Of course Deion did that shit. The Motherfucker named himself Prime Time! Anything less than acting like an arrogant asshole would have been against the Prime Time #brand. Plus Deion was great in college and ran the 2nd fastest 40 time in Combine history. I wouldn’t have blamed him if he wiped his ass with any test from a team outside the Top 10 while saying “Prime Time don’t do Scantrons.”

However just for the record, the Giants were 10-6 the year before and had the 18th pick of the draft. But why let the facts get in the way of a good story, right? 18 makes it even more of an insult. I’m actually surprised Deion didn’t spit on George Young for even suggesting the possibility that the Giants could draft him at 18 (unless they traded up).

However Deion dipping could have robbed diehard football fans of watching Deion playing with LT and a great Giants defense while also being coached up by Bill Parcells and Bill Belichick. And the worst part of all is that we were robbed of all the RIDICULOUS stories that would have come out about Parcells and Belichick coaching up a Deion Sanders who was damn near out of his mind back then. Him and LT together would have caused one of those coaching legends to go to the cuckoo house. But instead we will never know. All because of a big ass test (and 13 draft slots).

The Top 5 of the 1989 draft was pretty decent I suppose.
