Mavericks To Honor Tony Romo During The Last Game Of The Season By Letting Him Dress In Uniform And Sit On The Bench

ESPN- The Dallas Mavericks plan to honor Tony Romo at their home finale Tuesday night by making the longtime Dallas Cowboys quarterback “a Maverick for a day,” ESPN has learned. Sources told ESPN.com that the Mavericks intend to have Romo on the bench and in uniform for their final regular-season home date against the Denver Nuggets as a means of paying tribute to the longtime former Cowboy.

With starting point guard Seth Curry ailing in recent days and officially out for the rest of the season because of a shoulder ailment, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has said on multiple occasions over the past week that the club would be looking to add “a pass-first point guard” before playing out the season’s final five days. People within the organization, sources tell ESPN, say he has been referring to Romo.

What a nice gesture out of Mark Cuban to grant a dying child’s last wish to suit up as a Mav. What’s that? Tony Romo isn’t dying and is a full grown man? Well it’s still a nice gesture for a fan that has the medical history of Mr. Glass but won a lot of Super Bowls playoff games regular season games for the city. And this also means that there is one last chance for Tony Romo to play role in a 4th quarter collapse as all of Twitter runs through their favorite Romo jokes and memes. I’m gonna miss those, no matter how old and tired they were.

However I’m pretty sure no matter what Romo does, it will be better than the Rajon Rondo Era in Dallas.
