Wake Up With Adrian Beltre Hitting A Walk-Off Homer For The Dodgers (2004)
RIP Rod Beck. This inning actually started with our boy Paul Lo Duca flying out to right field. Questionable clutch gene. But this was the year that Adrian Beltre went OFF for a career high and league-leading 48 homers, drove in a career high 121 runs, and had a 1.017 OPS, which was the only time in his career that he had an OPS north of 1.000. His .334 batting average that year was also a career high, and all of that put together earned him an MVP runner-up. The last time that I wrote about Beltre, I threw in there that he’s going to be a Hall of Famer some day, and I was surprised at how many people balked at that notion. Dude’s definitely getting into Cooperstown when it’s all said and done.
