This Dude Who Got Beaten With His Own Hula Hoop Is Just A Delight
NYDN - A New York City subway performer says he was injured after an attack by a subway dance group that was angry they didn’t receive tips for a dance routine.
Jean Loup Wolfman says he tried to calm down the dancers after they started threatening an elderly couple at the Union Square subway station on Monday. But his attempt to intervene led to the three unidentified dancers chasing him around the station, catching him and beating Wolfman with a hula hoop he was carrying for subway performances.
The NYPD says they’ve arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with the assault. Wolfman needed stiches and staples for wounds sustained in the assault, but says he would do it again to help someone in need.

Everyone is trying to hate on this guy for getting beaten to death by his own hula hoop, but I for one cannot do that.
Everyone will watch that interview and clown on him, but I simply cannot do such thing.
Why? Because Jean Loup Wolfman is an American hero. When everyone else keeps their head down on the Subway, eyes never leaving their cell phone, Jean Loup Wolfman is boppin his head, clapping along, having a merry ol’ time. When you’re 3 inches from getting kicked in the face after “SHOWTIME!” is yelled out on a crowded Subway car, Jean Loup Wolfman is making it rain on the guys swinging from the rafters. He is the happiest man on Earth, to the point he is giggling while talking about how he was savagely beaten with his own hula hoop. Most people would be embarrassed if they just caught a whooping, but not our guy. No siree Bob. All he did was hula faster and harder, right in the face of the haters.
When adversity strikes, there’s only one guy I want on the front line. And that guy is Jean Loup Wolfman.
