Washington Coach Jay Gruden’s nephew, Jon David Gruden II, who goes by “Deuce” and is an assistant strength and conditioning coach on the Redskins’ staff, won gold at the World Classic Powerlifting Championships in Belarus on Monday. With his father, ESPN NFL analyst Jon Gruden, in attendance, Deuce won the junior 183-pound weight class. Fellow American Sean Noriega took silver.

Deuce, who is 5 feet 6, played running back at Lafayette College, where he recorded 16 carries for 46 yards over his last two seasons. After he graduated last summer, the Redskins hired Deuce as a strength-coach intern.

Pound for pound, Deuce Gruden is legitimately the strongest person in the world. Dude is 5’6 and squats 622, benches 440, and deadlifts 666. What an absolute beast.

And best of all, he’s the Redskins strength coach.

Pretty good to have a world champion weight lifter in the weight room with the team. We’ll probably have Kirk putting up 30 reps of 225 before we know it. Maybe doing this too:

It’s so poetic Deuce Gruden came from Jon Gruden. If you had to shut your eyes and guess what Jon Gruden’s son would look like, Deuce is it.
