White House Official Calls CNN 'Fake News' And 'Laughable' To Anderson Cooper's Face
Sebastian Gorka is the deputy assistant to President Trump. Anderson Cooper hosts CNN’s no. 1 program. So this right here is another visible battle in the ongoing war between the White House and CNN. The White House fucking HATES CNN. And CNN fucking HATES this White House. There really was no other likely outcome after then President-Elect Trump called CNN garbage and fake news while refusing to give White House correspondent Jim Acosta a question in January:
I know I include that clip a lot but it’s just so good.
Is Gorka right? Unfortunately I believe he is more right than wrong. I think the powers that be controlling the information, the delivery of that information, and the sensationalism of that information on cable news have gotten to a point where they care very little about journalistic integrity. That’s why Gorka goes after the chyron on your screen; he’s calling out the production of the shows. He’s highlighting the fact that that production is not carried out to protect the integrity of journalism — it’s carried out to drive the highest ratings possible. The cable news channels have gotten so big and so competitive that the singular goal of their shows has narrowed from reporting the news to simply to garnering and holding the largest audience from that news.
Is that Anderson Cooper’s fault? I really don’t think so. AC is an accomplished journalist and reporter. He’s an accomplished anchor. He’s done a phenomenal job moderating and hosting different debates and forums, which speak to his talent and ability as a journalist.
But it’s not his call. It’s gotten to a point where CNN vs Trump is a hateful ratings war that’s well above AC’s control, and is actually working out well for everyone. While we might think CNN’s reputation is down (retracted stories, fired journalists), their ratings are up. Highest they’ve ever been.
It’s becoming tougher and tougher to find reliable news sources. In BNN you should trust.
