Brian Cashman Says Clint Frazier Will Be Sent Down When Aaron Hicks Returns From The DL Which is Just Bullshit

I get it and I don’t at the same time. Over the last few weeks while Gary and Judge have slumped, Frazier has been one of the few bright spots for this team. He’s posted a .298/.308/.638 triple slash with three homers and eight RBIs in 13 games. More importantly the kid hustles his ass off on every single play and that’s something that energizes a team. Aaron Hicks was awesome when he was healthy and at one point I thought he should’ve been an all-star before he got hurt. It looks like he’s going to resume baseball activities in a week or so which gives Clint about two weeks left in the big leagues if Cashman holds true to his word.

The return of #31 will be an extra boost to this team and he 100% has to play when he comes back, but for the love of God Jacoby Ellsbury needs to be put out of his misery. Honestly, just DFA the guy. Bite the goddamn bullet and eat the money. You’re going to be paying the man either fucking way, you might as well win baseball games while you’re at it.

Is this being discussed internally? I have no clue, but I sure hope it’s being floated around. In 55 games he’s hitting .254 with 17 RBIs. AWESOME. Well worth the $21 million he’s getting this year and the next THREE. Just for the record, Aaron Hicks is getting just over a million this year and in just about the same games has 20 more runs batted in and an average close to .300. By the time Frazier is sent down in a few weeks he’ll most likely eclipse what Ellsbury has done the whole goddamn year.

This is absolutely erroneous on all accounts.

P.S. Maybe Ellsbury will just run into another wall within two weeks and get another Sydney Crosby-esque concussion
