Missouri Adds Jontay Porter to Loaded Class

So this is some serious news in the college basketball world. Jontay Porter, the brother of Michael Porter Jr., has announced he will reclassify and play for Missouri this year. That gives Missouri an absolutely loaded class with the Porter brothers and Jeremiah Tilmon headlining the group. Needless to say Missouri fans are happy about the Cuonzo Martin signing as of this moment.

This was one of the worst kept secrets in college basketball as the Porter brothers always wanted to play college ball together (and for their father, who is an assistant coach). So what does Missouri get in Jontay Porter? Well, he’s an extremely skilled big that can go get buckets the moment he steps on the court. He has the body of a college player, not of one that should be a high school senior. He’s also very polished on the offensive end, something that really came to light during the Peach Jam last month. He’s your modern day big too in the sense that he can step away and shoot the ball.

For Missouri, they are going to have a ton of hype coming into the year and we’ll see how justifiable it is. I do think they are the third team in the SEC now behind Kentucky and Florida and should be in and out of the top-25 all year. They still need to add some depth to the back court to give that loaded front court some help, but this group now has a reason to compete all season.
