Giants Prove That Anything, In Fact, IS Possible

Some will congratulate me for putting out an EXCEPTIONAL reverse jinx pregame blog to help steer the G-Men to their second win of the year over the heavily favored Chiefs. Others will just call me an idiot & say I was dead wrong…again. I’ll let the people decide for themselves.

Ben McAdoo begged fans to show up at MetLife with the promise of a “show” & a win. He was way more accurate than I was. The game started off with some unusual plays early. The Giants first drive of the game included a fake punt conversion at their own 41, only to come up empty with a halfback pass for a pick near the KC goal line. Alex Smith returned the favor with a shovel pass that ended up in the hands of Damon Harrison for his first career INT on the next possession. Eli eventually scrambled for a 3rd & long conversion that led to the only TD of the game – only for Rosas to miss the PAT.

Fast forward through a relatively boring second half that featured another couple KC giveaways (including a Travis Kelce INT to one-up Vereen’s from earlier) and the McAdoo promise came to complete fruition. A kicker that’s missed either a PAT or FG in 6 of 7 games forced the Giants to go for it on 4th & 6 from the KC 36 in OT. Then this happened:

Just an insane catch from Roger Lewis that allowed Rosas to win the game & put a bit of a kink in the tank everyone finally jumped on board for after last week’s awful loss in San Francisco. They’re still firmly entrenched in the third slot though so it’s OK for fans to be happy for our severely shorthanded Giants pulling off such an improbable win at home. Kevin Garnett was right after all.

Now let’s not do it again.
