Variety- Warner Bros. is planning a shake-up and restructuring of its DC Films operation following the box office disappointment of “Justice League,” Variety has learned.

Jon Berg will be leaving his current job running the comic book’s film production division, according to several sources with knowledge of the studio’s plans. A search is underway for his replacement. Berg will instead become a production partner with Roy Lee, the producer of “The Lego Movie” and “It,” who has a deal on the lot.

While Ben Affleck is expected to appear as Batman in a standalone Flash movie, it is highly unlikely he will don the cape and cowl in Matt Reeves’ planned standalone Batman movie. The director is said to want to cast the role with fresh talent, according to sources.

Welp, this could be the straw that broke the – already crippled – camel’s back. Ben Affleck seems to be done as DC’s Batman, full time at least. For some reason, he’s still planning on appearing in “The Flash”, but not his own movie that he was originally slated to write, direct, and star in. Affleck is a obviously huge name, and he’s probably tired of getting his name pulled back down into “Gigli” territory thanks to these completely unsuccessful DCEU movies, but I don’t understand why his solution to that is walking away and not trying to turn things around. He was given a solo Batman movie. Blow everyone away with that, and walk away on top if you want to. Don’t leave before you get there, though. Affleck is a fantastic actor, writer, and director, as well as an amazing Batman, so he should take after Harvey Dent and make his own luck.

If Affleck does wind up walking away, I think the universe should basically end. You can continue making Superman movies with Henry Cavill, Wonder Woman movies with Gal Gadot, Flash and Aquaman movies, all of that. Stop intertwining for at least a decade, though. If you’re casting the NEXT Batman, I’d look no further than John Hamm or Armie Hammer. Ryan Gosling was also in the mix, and while I love the Gos-God (shoutout LCP), I don’t know if I see him as Batman. Bruce Wayne, sure, but Batman? He’s almost TOO pretty.
