Indian Prince Comes Out As Gay, Promptly Invites Every Gay Guy In The Country To Come Live At His Palace For Free
Source - Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil, heir apparent to the throne of Rajpipla in western Gujarat state, said it was particularly hard to come out in small-town India, where traditional values hold sway and heterosexual relations are the norm.
“People still face a lot of pressure from their families when they come out, being forced to marry, or thrown out of their homes. They often have nowhere to go, no means to support themselves,” he told the Thomson Reuters Foundation.
So the prince, 52, is building a center for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people (LGBT) on the grounds of his ancestral palace.
“I am not going to have children, so I thought, why not use this space for a good purpose?” Gohil said, adding that he will offer rooms, a medical facility and training in English and vocational skills to help people find jobs.
Gohil said he is renovating and extending his palace, built in 1927, on the 15-acre site, installing solar panels for power, and reserving some land for organic farming. An online crowd funding campaign and donations are financing the center, which will be managed by his charity, he said.
This must be a huge relief for the LGBT community in India. A lot of the country operates under a colonial era law titled “Section 377″ which bans intercourse against the order of nature. In other words, P in V only. Their Supreme Court agreed to reexamine the law but they’ve been dragging their feet so who knows how long it could take. The bottom line is being gay in India sucks. At least it did until this queen showed up.
Scratch that, King. Scratch that again, Prince. He created an open door policy allowing any gay person to stay at his palace free of charge. He doesn’t know any better because he just came out…but BOY is he in for a surprise.

It’s going to take more than a solar panel and organic garden to keep your house guests happy, sweetheart. If I were you I’d start with a gym and a comprehensive inspection of the palace’s plumbing. Not only are your guests going to want to be in shape, they’re going to want to be smooth. Chances are none of those dudes have shaved in their life so you need to make sure the drains can handle the volume. Next thing you’re going to want to do is update the sound system. The brand doesn’t matter just make sure it can handle the entire range of Madonna’s albums. Early eighties right up to Rebel Heart (Yuck.) After that it’s all about updating and accessorizing. Oh and maybe have some props laying around incase someone wants to take an Insta. Nothing crazy: blow up swans for the pool, ingredients for a negroni, and a bag of coke should work fine. You get the idea, the more tchotchkes the better. Best of luck Prince, you’re going to need it.
