Pat McAfee Will Be Featured On The NXT TakeOver Pre-Show Panel During WrestleMania Weekend
WWE- Indianapolis Colt-turned-comedian, radio host and podcaster extraordinaire Pat McAfee will join Charly Caruso and Sam Roberts on the NXT TakeOver: New Orleans Pre-Show panel Saturday, April 7, streaming live on WWE Network, on the eve of WrestleMania.
A former All-Pro punter who spent eight years in the NFL, McAfee is no stranger to the black-and-yellow brand. He served as a special guest ring announcer at an NXT Live Event in Indianapolis last month and even made his presence felt, helping Aleister Black defeat Adam Cole, with whom McAfee had traded barbs on social media.
The outspoken McAfee, a former recipient of the NFL’s “Walter Payton Man of the Year” award, currently hosts a Sirius XM radio show and “The Pat McAfee Show” podcast, as well as heads up Barstool Heartland, a branch of Barstool Sports. Known for his infectious energy and “Let’s go!” mantra, McAfee can be counted on to add unique insights to the Pre-Show panel.

Pat and I were actually recording the weekly wrestling recap on his show as this news broke, and I got to speak with him a little bit beforehand, and he’s over the moon with excitement. Pat’s one of the most passionate wrestling fans I know, obviously filled head to toe with positivity at all times, and I can truly tell you this couldn’t be a more perfect fit for both him and the WWE. His last few outings with them were all phenomenal, and this’ll be no different.

Now he’ll be in the analyst role (having to wear a suit, YIKES) breaking down one of the biggest and best cards of the year. Like I said, he’s on cloud nine about this and has probably thanked the WWE for the opportunity more times than The Big Show’s turned heel and face altogether. It’s a feel-good story where the little boy who grew up watching the WWF and mimicking his favorite wrestlers on the football field finally signed a contract with the coup de grace of the business. If that doesn’t bring a tear to your eye, I don’t know what will.
