HUDSON, Fla. (WFLA) – A Hudson man is behind bars after deputies say he attacked two people with a sword because he was angry over socks. Pasco deputies were called to a home on Lauderdale Street Tuesday afternoon for the incident. According to an arrest report, 47-year-old Brandon McCray started arguing with people inside his home and accused several of them of stealing his socks. The report states McCray threatened the people in the home, saying he would be back and they would be sorry. Deputies say McCray then left the home and returned with a ninja sword, which he used to injure two people. One woman, identified as the suspect’s ex-girlfriend, suffered a large and significant cut on her leg from the sword, according to the arrest report. Deputies say McCray also swung the sword at a man’s head and neck. That victim suffered injuries to his hands and arms. The arrest report states the man also nearly lost several of his fingers.

If I had come across this story a few years ago I wouldn’t have understood it. Not at all. Cause back then socks weren’t all that important to me. I’d leave them everywhere. Anytime I slept over at a friends as a kid, I’d leave my socks. They’d be all over the place. On the floor. In the couches. It was my calling card. So much so that my friend’s moms would do loads of laundry for me and have clean socks (the socks I had left behind) waiting for me when I came over the next time. Weird? Yeah it was weird but I didn’t care about my socks back then. I would just throw my shoes on without socks and head home. I was a strange kid for sure.

But now? I really care about my socks. I guess I’m finally growing up. A few months back I decided I needed to step up my sock game and ordered thirty six (36) pairs of socks off Amazon. 36 pairs. The socks have all these cool colors and designs and patterns on them. They’re dope. I’m obsessed with them. And if my roommates stole them, I would be pissed. If I owned a sword, yeah I might even attack them with it. Because all of the socks match. I can’t just lose one. I’d lose my mind. I might buy a sword just in case this ever happens.
