Frank Walks Episode 7: Don Mattingly presented by BodyArmor

For walk 7, I had a chance to walk around Central Park with Don Mattingly. For a generation, Mattingly was the face of the New York Yankees. Playing from 1982-1995, some of the franchise's leanest years, Don Mattingly was the lone stalwart. Don Mattingly served as Yankees captain and was the best player in baseball for a four-year stretch, 1984-1987. He won the American League MVP in 1985 and a batting crown in 1984. A six-time All-Star, Matting won three silver sluggers and nine gold gloves before a back injury curtailed the end of his career. Despite this, many feel that Don Mattingly should be in the Hall of Fame, and momentum for that seems to be growing through the veteran's committee. Since retirement, Mattingly has served as manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Miami Marlins. He currently is the bench coach for the Toronto Blue Jays.
